Privacy Notice
In short: we only collect what you choose to give us through the waitlist and the survey. We use it to tell you about our launch and to understand how researchers analyse their data. We never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Elisa Nicolini, on behalf of the EnjoyTheLab project, Trento, Italy. Contact: admin@enjoythelab.com.
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis
| Where | Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waitlist form | Email address | To tell you about the EnjoyTheLab launch and invite you to early access (product news only, no third-party marketing) | Your consent, given by submitting the form (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Survey | Your role (researcher or principal investigator), your answers about how you analyse data, and your institution | Market research: understanding researchers' needs so we can build the right product | Your consent, given by submitting the survey (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Survey (optional fields) | Full name and institutional email | To contact you about the launch and early access, and, if needed, to follow up on your answers | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Any page | IP address and browser information | To deliver the website securely, via the providers in section 4 | Our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. All forms are voluntary. If you don't fill them in, the only consequence is that we can't notify you or take your feedback into account.
Survey answers are analysed and reported only in aggregate, grouped by type of institution or research centre. We never publish answers that identify you. If you leave your name or email, we can link them to your answers. If you'd rather stay anonymous, leave those fields empty.
3. How long we keep it
- Waitlist email: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, and in any case no longer than 24 months after the public launch.
- Survey answers: no longer than 24 months after collection. After that they are deleted, or kept only in fully anonymised, aggregated form.
- Survey name and email: until you ask us to delete them, and in any case no longer than 24 months after collection.
4. Who processes it for us
We do not sell or share your data. It is processed only by these service providers, acting on our behalf:
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script), which receives and stores waitlist and survey submissions.
- GitHub, Inc. (GitHub Pages), which hosts this website. It also serves the public list of universities used to autocomplete the institution field in the survey.
- jsDelivr, a content-delivery network serving the page's style and script libraries.
Fonts are served from our own website, not from third parties. Some of these providers may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 45–46 GDPR).
5. Your rights
At any time you can ask us to:
- give you access to your data;
- correct or delete it;
- restrict its processing;
- send it to you in a portable format;
- stop processing it (objection).
These rights are set out in Art. 15–21 GDPR. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. To do any of this, email admin@enjoythelab.com; we will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or with the authority of the EU country where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).
6. Automated decisions
We make no automated decisions or profiling based on your data.
7. Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what you consented to, we will ask for your consent again.
